So these gorgeous people just happen to be (drumroll please) my brother, sister-in-law, and nephews. I mean just look at them—those eyes, those smiles, those sweet sweet faces!!! (I enjoy teasing my brother about marrying way out of his league!) I know I’m gushing, but these guys were the very first Olive Shoots Photography family session—they’ve been with me from the very beginning, and whenever I wanted to practice a new technique or try out a new location, they (usually) went along and were great sports about it. James has always had my back, so when he called and asked if I could do a family shoot, I thought of the perfect place—this idyllic little spot on the gorgeous trail system by the Grand River in Brantford. The sound of the water running over smooth stones and the leaves rustling overhead create an ambiance that’s somehow both soothing and invigorating at the same time. The light is always soft and flattering, and (best of all!) dogs are welcome. (Just come prepared with a create or leash—you don’t want them bounding off into the wild!) When you get to mix business and pleasure with family and fun, you’re fortunate indeed, and I left that afternoon thanking God for such a happy day.
