Now this was a really special wedding to shoot! Phil’s sister’s wedding was the first one I’d ever shot as a professional photographer, so when her little brother called up to announce he’d found the most beautiful, wonderful woman in the world to be his bride, I jumped at the chance to take their pictures.
Both Phil and Ashley work in healthcare--Phil is an ER nurse and Ashley is a PSW--and the two of them bring such love and care to their vocation. They met at a church youth conference (he played guitar; she played piano) and they figured that since they played so well together, they might as well keep doing it! :D It was wonderful to see how happy their parents were--their joy in giving their blessing over their wedding vows honestly got me a little moist-eyed! The portraits were held at Ashley’s parents’ home, which came complete with a picturesque pond and the most perfect afternoon light. There’s no better compliment I can receive than a client’s family member asking me to record their special day, and I was so grateful to be able to document another joyful milestone in this family’s story.
