This was definitely one of my favourite shoots this year—the family are dear friends of mine and (as you can see!) are so photogenic, and I was really looking forward to taking their pictures.
Dave and Charlene just celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary (congratulations, guys!) so we drove out to a beautiful spot in Paris on the Grand River. It was a bit of a hike, which was (ahem) extra fun, since I was lugging my camera and some equipment and Charlene was worried that the boys would ruin their outfits, but it was so worth it—the sand kept the children busy (and relatively clean!) and the soft lighting reflected off the sand and water to create a soft glow that added radiant quality to everything. Even their clothing palette flowed well with the ambient surroundings—how often does that happen??? It was just one of those days where everything came together beautifully, and I was so happy to be a part of it.
